Driving antimicrobial treatment by resistance markers in gram-negatives

Gram-negative bacteria can acquire resistance to multiple classes of antibiotics and pose a serious threat in healthcare settings. In this presentation, Dr. Jose Alexander, Medical Microbiologist at AdventHealth, discusses strategies against AMR that include rapid diagnostic and actionable data collection, the importance of effective communication, and the need for a clear definition of multiple drug resistance (MDR) to help promote treatment and infection prevention. This talk was presented at the SelectScience® Virtual Microbiology and Infectious Disease Summit 2022.
