Dr. Raul Cano

The BioCollective

Dr. Cano’s microbiology career spans more than 50 years, with extensive experience in both BioTechnology and Academia. Dr. Cano specializes in molecular and environmental microbiology. He is best known for his groundbreaking work in paleomicrobiology and metagenomics. His current interest focuses in metagenomics and comparative metabolomics as well as developing standard procedures of microbiome research. His Ph.D. in microbiology was granted by University of Montana. Dr. Cano also holds advanced degrees in Genetics and Clinical Microbiology. He has been awarded more than a dozen awards, including the Carski Award. Dr. Cano has served as scientific consultant to several biotechnology firms, and has been elected fellow to the American Academy of Microbiology
