In this video, Mustafa Culha, Visiting Professor at Oregon Health and Science University, discusses the applications and advantages of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for the analysis of complex biological systems and the diagnosis and early detection of cancer.
Oregon Health and Science University
Prof. Culha studies complex biological systems using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) with the aim of disease detection and diagnosis. He focuses on early detection and reliable diagnosis of cancer, and the detection and identification of infectious disease-causing microorganisms using the technique. His other research directions are the discovery of novel drug and gene delivery nanocarriers, surface chemistry versus toxicity relationship of nanomaterials and self-assembly nanomaterials.
