Dr. Carsten Müller, from Cardiff University, profiles biologically active substances and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Dr Muller employs novel techniques to investigate the VOCs present in the headspace of packaged food such as rocket and melons, in order to determine shelf-life and reduce food wastage.
