Biography

Dr. Patrick Hanley is the Chief and Director of the Cellular Therapy Program at Children's National Hospital and an associate professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University. In his role, he manages the processing of stem cell transplantation and is responsible for developing, manufacturing, ensuring quality, and testing novel cellular therapies. Dr. Hanley holds leadership roles in the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT) as the VP, North America and as a member of the board of directors. He co-founded and served as the inaugural co-chair of the Early Stage Professionals committee, focusing on workforce development. Additionally, he is the commissioning editor of the society's journal, Cytotherapy, and serves on the board of directors of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). Dr. Hanley also acts as an advisor to several biotech companies specializing in cell and gene therapy.
