Parenting is a complex social behavior. Dr. Johannes Kohl, The Francis Crick Institute, studies the neural circuit basis of parenting. Using tracing methods and behavioral tests, he examined how a subset of neurons in the medial preoptic region was crucial for regulating and modulating parenting in mice.
