Shawn McFadden, Technical Officer, Ryerson University, provides an insight into the suite of analytical instrumentation available at Ryerson Analytical Facility and how this technology is being used to meet the needs of researchers working across chemistry and biology disciplines as well as civil engineering and fashion. In an interview filmed at the Toronto facility in January 2020, McFadden shares how the chromatography and spectroscopy analyses performed in the lab are helping to advance new applications, including photovoltaic cells and cannabis testing.
