Professor David Polsky Shares Research on Identifying Cancer Biomarkers from Liquid Biopsies
9 Jan 2016

David Polsky, MD, Ph.D., Professor of Dermatologic Oncology at the New York University School of Medicine, reveals breakthroughs in melanoma research and how cancer research is being advanced using digital PCR to identify novel biomarkers from liquid biopsies. Current blood-based biomarkers used in the US, such as lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), lack the sensitivity and specificity to accurately describe a patient's disease course. Professor Polsky explains how his research has identified new biomarkers that may elucidate the patients’ cancer prognosis more accurately.
